Diet That Triggers Rosacea

Rosacea is a reoccuring skin situation that generally impacts Caucasians and people with fair complexion. This disorder is seen as a persistent inflammation of the face, particularly in the central areas within the nose, chin, cheeks, and forehead. The condition is very common in women as compared to men, though when it strikes males, it's usually more severe. Rosacea generally happens to individuals between the age of 30 and 50 and people feel that individuals who've them just have a severe case of acne or sunburn. Other symptoms are stinging and burning sensation, enlarged arteries in the face that brings about appearance of red lines, and in severe cases among males, the enlargement of the nose.

Until now, it's still unknown what is the precise cause of this problem. However, several researchers have observed that some factors such may trigger episodes of flushing that can result in the introduction of the condition. But one other factor is diet. Those people who have this condition reported that eating certain foods can trigger additional flushing, burning and stinging sensation, and the occurrence of papules and pustules.

One kind of diet that could trigger flushing is eating foods that contain or set off the release of histamine. Histamine initiates vasodilation and therefore it will amplify the symptom of rosacea. These food consist of cheese, alcohol, dried fruits, chocolate, milk, tomatoes, and more.

An additional substance that may improve the likelihood or rosacea is Niacin. Niacin, also known as vitamin B3 can increase the dilation of blood vessels which in turn leads to flushing. Examples of food rich in tryptophan which the body converts to Niacin are seaweeds, eggs, soy, spinach, crab, lobster, crayfish, shrimp, salmon, and tofu.

Individuals with Rosacea may also have sensitivity to food with salicylates that can worsen the signs and symptoms. Food that have high salicylates content include champagne, wines, tea, honey, ginger, pepper, mint, almonds, peanuts, pineapples, raisins, chili, green peppers, radish, and many more.

Diets that are high in carbohydrates and sugars naturally causes the body to produce more insulin. This then produces a substance which induces inflammation of the skin that can cause the development of rosacea. Some of the foods that are high in carbohydrates are rice, bread, pasta, beans, potatoes, rice, bran, and cereals.
